The Transkei is one of the most impoverished regions in South Africa.

Touch Africa identified Mogotwane Junior Secondary School, situated close to Willovale as being a deserving recipient of assistance.

The school was made up entirely of mud huts and the exemplary headmaster had been battling for many years to provide education in the appalling conditions.

With the imminent threat of the entire school being demolished and the children having to walk an extra 8km - 10km a day to get to another school, Bonitas Medical Fund took up opportunity to fund the building of a new classroom.

The generous donation from Bonitas Medical Fund has enabled learners to get an education in a suitable classroom.

The M-Net Cares platform on M-Net & DStv enabled us to give Bonitas Medical Fund some extra value in the form of TV exposure of the project.

The donation from the sponsor assists with covering Empowerdex requirements and a Section 18a tax certificate is provided.

The school still needs a further four classrooms to ensure that they can remain as a functioning school in the district of Willovale.
