Diski fever taking SA by storm...

With world Cup excitement at an all-time high, Offlimit Communications has successfully brought diski fever to soccer fans, in true South African style. Tasked by the International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC) to get support for the 2010 FIFA World Cup countdown, Offlimit Communications set out to create unforgettable experiences that would unite all South Africans through a uniquely South African activity: the diski dance.
Diski fever taking SA by storm...
Diski dance flash mobs were held in different locations over the past four weeks, throughout various World Cup host cities. Kicking off with a bang at Mary Fitzgerald square in Johannesburg on 11 May 2010, and joined by Morning Live and the Minister of Culture, Lulu Xingwana, the enthusiastic group of 150 students taught crowds how to do the diski dance, and gave them South African flags, scarves and vuvuzelas.

As was seen in various newspapers, websites and TV stations (including The Star newspaper, The Sowetan, The Times and e.tv News) the team proceeded to travel throughout SA, including Rustenburg, Nelspruit, PE, Cape Town and Durbs.

The overall success of the campaign exceeded expectations of both IMC and the Offlimit team: "The response to this activation has been phenomenal, with people flying the flag, and feeling the World Cup knocking on their doors," explains Portia Mkhwanazi of Offlimit Communications. "There are no words to describe the feeling when watching over 100 people at a given time doing the diski together and seeing the excitement on the faces of those watching... the team spirit was unforgettable."

Offlimit Communications looks to continue spreading the spirit of 'ubuntu' to South African soccer fans, spreading mutual excitement around the World Cup through various other initiatives.
