United Stations Academy makes waves with Gagasi FM Immersion

The industry sat up and took notice recently when specialist radio sales house, United Stations, hosted the inaugural Gagasi FM Immersion at its headquarters in Houghton.
United Stations Academy makes waves with Gagasi FM Immersion
This is the first in a series of United Stations Academy Immersions which are aimed at showcasing the power of its platforms, particularly within marketers and their agencies in Gauteng and helping advertisers tap into new and existing opportunities on radio.

The Gagasi FM Immersion allowed delegates to soak in a half day of radio intelligence via insightful presentations covering an overview of South Africa's fastest growing economy - KZN, as well as an in-depth look into KZN's millennials.

United Stations MD Rivak Bunce says; "It's a little known fact that KwaZulu-Natal will receive the largest share of the budget of all the provinces in terms of equitable share, according to Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene's 2015/ 2016 budget.

"This translates into KZN receiving R82.2-billion for 2015/ 2016, followed by Gauteng with R73.4-billion, and the Eastern Cape with R54.3-billion. Naturally, this makes it key for us to showcase the power of KZN, in particular the young adult audience making up Gagasi FM's 1.7 million-strong listenership to marketers and their agencies. Simply put, KZN is a booming economy, bursting with the youth market (ages 15-34) and Gagasi FM has them by their ears!"

Gagasi FM MD Vukile Zondi as well as Gagasi FM Brand Manager at United Stations, Li Ndube, presented an in-depth look into the station's audience, key trends affecting this audience, as well as techniques on how to best engage with them.

Attendees were spoiled for choice as the day's setting included car displays, a make-shift beach, spit roast, cocktails, music performances by some of KZN's most popular artists, as well as an opportunity to meet and mingle with Gagasi FM's daytime presenters - all of this in a lively atmosphere that reflected the Gagasi FM audience's lives, tastes and trends.

Gagasi FM MD Vukile Zondi says, "Everyone including the Gagasi team found it an insightful, and thus worthwhile, exercise and the clients we (Gagasi FM) interacted with all gave positive feedback."
